Community governance is a key pillar of the Whistler 360 Health model. Our Board consists of hard-working volunteers with a range of experiences and perspectives.

Carol Leacy

Carol Leacy

Chair, Whistler Health Care Foundation
Ms. Carol Leacy is a business executive with expertise in business transformation, strategy, process re-engineering, change management and organizational design. Carol has a track record of implementing change for improved bottom line performance in industries including financial services, apparel, beverage alcohol, biotech, transportation, and electrical utilities.
She believes a healthy community is one where everyone has access to a family doctor. In addition to her volunteer work with Whistler 360 Health, she is the current Chair of the Whistler Health Care Foundation and a Board Member of the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for Northam Beverages Ltd.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and BA (Physics) from Queen’s University, as well as an MBA from the University of British Columbia.

Board Member of Doctors of BC, Former Chair of Sea to Sky Division of Family Practice
Dr. Karin Kausky graduated from the University of Toronto in 1988. She completed her Family Practice residency at the University of Western Ontario in 1990 obtaining certification from the Canadian College of Family Physicians. She completed her diploma in Sports Medicine in 2007 and obtained fellowship in the College of Family Physicians (FCFP) in 2020.
Karin has practiced full service family practice in Whistler since 1993. She is a medical lead for the Canadian National Ski Cross team , works with Alpine Canada, and was Chief Medical Officer for the Women’s Alpine Events at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics . Karin is the former chair of the Sea to Sky Division of Family Practice, vice-chair of Whistler 360 Health Collaborative, co-lead of the network of rural divisions with RCCBC, and on the board of directors of Doctors of BC.

Executive Director, Whistler Blackcomb Foundation
Ms. Mei Madden is the Executive Director of the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, a registered charity that supports the Sea to Sky Corridor with grants of $2 million dollars annually in the areas of health, human services, education, recreation, arts & culture and the environment.
She has sat on numerous boards and committees over the years including most recently the Vail Resorts Epic Promise Committee, the WBF Envirofund Board and is currently the chair of the Whistler Excellence Awards and a member of 100 Women Who Care Whistler. During the pandemic, she collaborated with non profit leaders to create a mental health campaign targeting unique issues of living in mountain resorts which was used by other local organizations like the RMOW and Arts Whistler to support local citizens. She also helped create a support resource hub www.seatoskysafetynet.com of self care tools and local services to help connect Sea to Sky Residents to mental health and substance use support which focusses on help for specific demographics such as multicultural services, Indigenous supports, LGBTQIA2S+, seniors and peer to peer initiatives to name a few.
Mei is a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Psychology. Whistler has been her home for over 27 years where she met her husband and raised her daughter. She is passionate about primary care and honoured to work with the brilliant board of Whistler 360 Health Collaborative.

Nicola Bentley

Ms. Nicola Bentley, is a strategist and educator who brings twenty years of executive experience as a marketing leader, facilitator, community engagement specialist, government relations advisor and brand steward with a client list that includes Fortune 500 companies to leadership talks and trainings through her company ClarityWorks. Nicola studied at both UBC and BCIT and is also a trained mindfulness facilitator through UCLA’s, Mindfulness Awareness Research Centre (MARC), Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behaviour, where she works as a part-time mentor and workshop facilitator.
Nicola is a leadership facilitator with WNorth Connect, an organization that provides mentorship for women leaders through chapters across North America and Europe. She is also a board member with Zero Ceiling Society Canada and volunteers as a mentor with Dress for Success, Ambassador Program in Vancouver. She is an active member with the Whistler Writers Festival. Nicola has worked and lived in Whistler for over twenty-five years.

Jackie Dickinson

Executive Director, Whistler Community Services Society
Ms. Jackie Dickinson is the Executive Director of the Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS), a non-profit organization that addresses Whistler community’s social and emotional wellness needs. Jackie initially joined the WCSS as an outreach worker in 2009 and worked in a variety of roles until she assumed her current role as Executive Director.
In 2022, Jackie and her team at the WCSS, in partnership with local healthcare and community service providers, received the Rural Coordination Centre of BC's Community Health Award for their outstanding response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jackie has previous experience as a high school teacher and drug and alcohol educator, and has been trained in Mental Health First Aid and Critical Incident Debriefing as a frontline outreach worker. She has been a resident of Whistler since 2007, settling down in this beautiful resort community with her husband to raise two adventurous boys.

Kathleen Collins

Team Leader, Child and Youth Mental Health Services, MCFD
Kathleen moved to Whistler in 1991 and quickly became a passionate advocate for her community. She was instrumental in developing the Critical Incident Stress Management program for the Blackcomb Ski Patrol. She also worked with Communities That Care in developing research-based prevention processes that specifically engage the community in promoting the positive development of young people and their families. Kathleen has excellent communication skills in direct service delivery and leadership. Her volunteer work and clinical expertise includes providing consultation for initiatives in social policy, continual assessment and outreach. She has worked alongside Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in educational and private sector organizations, including over 19 years as a regional leader with the BC Provincial government in Child and Youth Mental Health.
Kathleen has lived in the Whistler area for over 30 years and is a firm believer in the strength of collaboration and teamwork. She carries with her a diverse range of life and career experiences having attended high school in such unique places as Cork, Ireland, and Jerusalem, Israel. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in International Development Studies & Political Science (Dalhousie University, 1991), and a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology (University of British Columbia, 2005). She is delighted to be part of such a dynamic group of colleagues as the Whistler 360 Health Collaborative.

Councillor, Resort Municipality of Whistler
First elected in 2014, Councillor Jen Ford is serving her third term on Whistler Council. Jen is also chair of the Whistler Housing Authority, chair of the Sea to Sky Regional Hospital District and chair of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. For 2022-2023, Jen is leading the Union of BC Municipalities as its president, having served on executive since 2018. Jen studied political science at York University in 2002, and in 2022 she completed a Graduate Certificate in Change Management from Royal Roads University.
When she’s not working with local governments, Jen can be found biking, skiing, or playing in the mountains. For over 20 years, Jen has committed to making life in Whistler a better place, either through advocating for affordable housing and childcare, working with local non-profits or volunteering. When Jen first learned of Whistler’s primary care challenges, she was excited to lend a hand and explore possibilities, and of course, to work with this group of passionate community builders!
